CORALVILLE, IA – Darlene McCord, Ph.D., FAPWCA and Jeffrey Niezgoda, MD, FACHM, MAPWCA and President of the American College of Hyperbaric Medicine have returned from the Philippines where they lectured on advanced skin care technologies and hyperbaric oxygen therapy to physicians and specialty nurses. More than 500 surgeons, oncologists, dermatologists and wound care specialists attended four separate symposiums sponsored by the leading hospitals in the region. In addition they were guest lecturers at the First Annual Philippine Wound Care Society that drew more than 300 attendees.
Dr. McCord lectured on the importance of small molecule technology in the reversal of necrosis at the peri-wound site. Dr. Niezgoda lectured on advance techniques in hyperbaric medicine and the indications for advanced wound care. Both doctors are known leaders in the field of advanced skin and wound care. Dr. McCord developed the Olivamine Remedy advanced skin care brand distributed by Medline Industries. The brand has been extremely effective in treating complex wounds and skin diseases in North America, making the brand the leading advanced skin care line sold into hospitals, nursing homes and long term care facilities. Dr. Niezgoda heads one of the largest wound care centers in the world that operates the largest medical hyperbaric unit in the country. Dr. Niezgoda has been using the Olivamine products as adjunctive care in his practice for nearly seven years.
“It is exciting to be on the front end of something that will advance skin and wound care in the Asia Pacific region by as much as 10 years” stated McCord. “The quality of care currently being provided in the Philippines is excellent from a standard of care perspective. We were able to demonstrate to Filipino physicians and nurses how small molecule technologies and advanced skin and wound techniques can reduce healing time and, more importantly, can limit or eliminate the development of costly wounds such as pressure ulcers.”
Representatives from the leading medical institutions in Manila have agreed to conduct clinical trials using Dr. McCord’s Olivamine brand of the advanced skin care products. The products being distributed in Asia will be sold under the Pinnaclife brand. Pinnaclife is a subsidiary of McCord Research. Pinnaclife is in the process of selecting the marketing and distribution companies for the region. Key executive positions have been filled to handle market entry. The company intends to use the Philippines as its base of operations for the entire Asian region. For additional information, please contact: Chris Hanson at 319-351-3201
